Krynn-our furry surprise

May 22 2010 my sister came over around 11am to spend the day with Tegan and I while Zach was at work. A few hours after her arrival visiting family of the people across the street rang my door bell. They proceed to explain that it sounded like a cat was stuck in under my sisters hood. Scared at what we may find the two of us walked out to her car and we popped the hood. After a a couple of minutes of following the tiny mewo we found the cutest pair of blue eyes looking up at us from my sisters engine. My sister said thought she heard a weird noise on her 15 min drive over. Shockingly the tiny 1.4lb kitten was perfect other than a few singed eye brows. After seeing how tiny and helpless she was and the stress filled life she has already had we decided to keep her. I just couldn't allow her to go to a pet store or shelter and sit in a cage not knowing who would adopt her. Even though we already had two cats and a dog and we really never wanted another pet we just had to give her a happy home. So we took her in and named her Krynn. She was meant to be apart of our family. Tegan totally loves and adores her! Non of our other animals let her touch them and Krynn excepts all the love that Tegan is willing to dish out. Tegan just wants to sit and cuddle her all day. If Krynn jumps down Tegan cries her little heart out. They are going to grow up to be the very best of friends. I never knew we needed another pet until this sweet little girl hitched a ride to my house and brought happiness to our precious little girl. Sometimes the things you need in life are things you never knew you needed at all.

18 months

It doesn't feel as though it has really been 18 months since I first held my precious miracle in my arms. In some sense it feels like Tegan has been in our lives forever, yet it doesn't seem like it has been 18 months already! I know what I am saying may not make any sense to anyone but to me it makes perfect sense. I think that because Tegan was in our dreams and in our hearts for years that it feels like she has been with us forever. All Zach and I ever wanted was a child of our own and after a few years of fight and heart ache we finally had her. It feels like yesterday I was finding out I was pregnant, hearing her heartbeat for the first time and feeling her first kicks. I can remember it all clearly yet it is sort of a blur in time because it all happened so fast. I remember the day I went into labor with my little footling breeched baby girl. It was 5 days before my scheduled c-section. I was 37 1/2 weeks pregnant. She just couldn't wait any longer, and neither could we. She is all we ever wanted and more. I remember the pure shock that my tiny newborn had hit 6 weeks old! Now I look back and laugh, at the time I thought 6 weeks was soo big! I imagine I will look back and laugh at this post when she is 5. Time flies by even faster than one expects. We prepare ourselves and only dream of things to come but nothing can really prepare us for the changes that come as time rushes on. At this time last year I was the mother of a little bald 6 month old and here I am the mom of a big 25.5lb 33 1/2 in tall beautiful little girl with bouncing piggie tails. Tegan has changes SO much over the last year. While at her 18 month check up yesterday I saw a 2 year old in there waiting her 2 year visit and I couldn't believe how talkative and less toddler like she looked. It is hard to fathom my little Tegan being like that in 6 months!!! I can't believe the changes that time brings, even in a matter of seconds your entire world can change. The best second of my life we seeing Tegan for the first time...a moment that will always hold a large piece of my heart.

Paramore Concert

Last thursday Zachary, Tegan and I went up to my moms house for the day. It had been a while since I last saw my mommy so I was super excited to give her a big hug. We spent the afternoon with her then she watched Tegan while Zach and I went out. We had a wonderful dinner at buffalo wild wings(our fav!) then we went across town to see paramore in concert.

We had an awesome time out together! There is nothing like a night out with your best friend!! Fun. and Relient K opened the show for Paramore. Fun. was absolutely amazing!! We immediately came home and purchased their album from itunes and we have been rocking out to it ever since. We could have done without relient k; they were such a bore to us. Paramore was awesome to see live! Hailey is such a little hot(according to the hubby) ball of energy!! After the concert we went back to my moms where we stayed the night. It was a nice, much needed night out with my love!

We are on the fence between early early spring and nearly summer. The good ol mid west is never predictable in terms of its weather. The other week we had temps in the 80's and it was too hot and humid to go outside. This week we have highs of the low 50's and nights with frost leaving it too cold to go outside. Despite the frost our flowers are blooming and the smell of spring is in the air.

I know it's been a while so I wanted to stop in and let all you blog followers know that we are all alive and doing well! Life is busy and your days go by fast with a quickly growing soon to be 18 month old(11 more days!).

Since my last post Zachary celebrated his 24th birthday! Some days it is hard to believe that we have been together since he was 16 :) He took the day off from work and we spent the day grilling out with good friends of ours.
Tegan is doing great! She continues to grow like a little weed and is starting to tower over kids three months older than her! She is defiantly a Wright! She has outgrown most of her 18 month clothes and can wear 2T dresses and shirts.
She has finally broken in all 4 of her one year molars! Her vocabulary is increasing every day and she never ceases to amaze us! She LOVES her baby dolls and she carries "Ma" around everywhere. "Ma"(tegan named her) was my favorite doll when I was a little girl; I've had her as long as I can remember so clearly shes seen better days. She is constantly dancing and she loves music! I can't wait for her to be old enough for dance class.

Time in Chicago with Tegan and Sara

On March 26th Zachary and I left Tegan at home with grandma Dee while we stayed over night in chicago. This was our very first night away from Tegan and it was very difficult to leave. We excitedly purchased tickets back in october during the pre-sales and booked our hotel in feburary so we had to follow through with our plans. I was sure to write up a nice list for grandma to follow and I walk out the door with tears flowing. As hard as it was to leave, I am glad we did. Zachary and I had an amazing time!!! We arrived at hotel indigo on deerborn parkway around 2pm. The location of this hotel was so wonderful, we were within walking distance of everything!
We went up and saw our room then bundled up and went out on the town!
It was such a blast walking down through gold coast chicago. We started our journey off by hitting up starbucks for some chai and cookies. We then went to barnes and noble to warm up for a bit and look around. I of course spent me time in the childrens book section thinking about Tegan. After we regained color to our lips we continued down deerborn until we hit chicago ave and took a nice walk to the chicago water tower.
We headed back to the indigo after looking around a bit and taking in the beauty of the old architecture that fills the city.
We had a nice dinner then caught our cab to the Eragon Ballroom. Holly Miranda and Steel Train opened for Tegan and Sara. It was an amazing concert (t&s always put on an amazing show!). After a few hours of rocking out we went back to the hotel and crashed(we aren't used to being up past 10 anymore haha.) I was up and ready to go at 6:30 the next morning. I let Zach sleep until 7 while I packed and got ready to get home to my cuppy cake! Her and grandma had a wonderful time and I am so greatful that she was there to watch Tegan for us. It helped ease my mind knowing Tegan was in her home surrounded by love and having fun. Of course that didn't make me miss her any less :( Enjoy all the pictures!!!!!

Easter

This was our second Easter as a beautiful family of three. It is amazing looking back at how much everything has changed over the past year!

Looking back at last year :) Zachary and I with our precious four month old.

This year was so much fun! Tegan is running and excited by everything! She was so happy to find that she had a basket full of goodies waiting for her when she woke up. Her and daddy opened up her basket and read her new book, ate some chocolate(before breakfast too!) and played with her new dolly that daddy designed and named Zelda.

After we finished our breakfast(and chocolate) we got ready for the day and headed to church. Tegan and I spent our time in the nursery because her "oh wow's" were a bit too loud to be sitting though preaching. After church we went to Zach's parents house where we had a yummy lunch. After Tegan awoke from her nap we went to my grandma's for a bit for more easter goodies. Around 5 we headed back home. We had a wonderful, exhausting day full of family and love.

Changes

Just as the world around us is continually changing so are each and every one of us. Whether they be big or small; changes are all around us. Some are for the better some for the worse. Changes are inevitable so we have to take what we are given. Follow life's path and do as my dad always said and "just pick up your feet and coast".

Many changes both big and small are taking place here at the Wright house.

*I don't have to turn the lights on until 5:30 now! proof that spring is just around the corner
*Tegan is now 15 months old, although she is the size of a healthy 18 month old!
*Tegan is working on pushing two new molars through
*Vocabulary is on the rise! Tegan has added bye-bye, what's that, book and spartan(our dog) to her growing list of words. Just another tiny reminder that our baby isn't such a baby anymore.
*Zachary's plant is moving back to 12 hour shifts(proof that the recession is ending). He got news yesterday that he got DAY shift!!!! In the five years we have been married he has worked night shift(with the exception of this past year where he worked 2nd shift). I am so grateful and feel beyond blessed that this change is going to take place. It will be so wonderful to go to bed with Zach and wake up with him every day. This change will provide Zach with days off and allow for time to plan fun trips and events.

Whether the changes that come your way are big or small, good or bad, embrace them. Go where life takes you and have faith that those changes happened for a reason. When in doubt just pick up your feet and coast :)

Even though Zachary had to work on valentines day we cherished every minute we had with him until he had to leave. We splurged and treated ourselves to some yummy doughnuts for our valentines day breakfast. We got Tegan a chocolate frosted sprinkled doughnut that she thought was the best thing ever! What kid wouldn't love chocolate and sprinkles for breakfast??
After breakfast we gave Tegan her valentines from Zach and I. She loved her new chair, barney movie and very first box of chocolates. She excitedly ran to them saying "oooohh" and "wow". She climbed up in her chair and continued the admiring with a big smile on her face.

We cranked up the volume on the stereo and danced the morning away while Zach watched and laughed(he was drawing) We ate a yummy lunch and played until it Tegan's eyes said it was time for her noon nap.
Nap time is one of my favorite and most cherished times of the day! Not because I get some "me time" because I give up such opportunities. I trade in my quiet time for cuddling with my sweet baby girl. I know these kind of moments will begin to fade as Tegan gets older so I don't take even the slightest second for granted. Zachary captured the moment before leaving for work. I am so grateful to him for doing so!

It was such a wonderful day with my beautiful family. It is always a very indescribable day for me; one full of raw emotions. I didn't shed one tear until I had to lay my sweet sleeping valentine down to bed. I clung on tight and cuddled with her until her sweaty little head put my arm into a coma. It wasn't long after that I found myself sitting on the floor with my head on my knees and tears flowing. The tears weren't stemmed from the loss of our first pregnancy all those years ago. but from the realization that our biggest dream came true! After the losses and heart ache and fight we won, we succeeded and were given life's ultimate gift. I cried in remembering exactly how that 2007 valentines day felt, how it lifted our hopes in so many ways. I cried in thinking about our sweet baby girl sound asleep in her crib. Some days it is amazing to me that she is really here, that she is really ours!! I wonder if I will ever get over the dream like feeling as my life precedes. I feel as though I am living in the best dream you could imagine, a fairy tale if you will. And it all started because two people fell in love :)

Chocolate Pudding

Less than a week away from Valentines day and already I am trying my hardest to fight back tears. Maybe it is the fact that birth control takes me on a hormonal roller coaster that I can't get off of. I can try to tell myself that but in reality the truth is that no matter where I am in life and no matter how happy I am I will never forget. Who could forget? Every year my heart starts to throb and my stomach wrenches a bit as we approach February 14th. It is on that day that I relive all the memories in my head. Single moments in time change who we are, a split second can change your life. Everything happens for a reason. I truly believe that. Even in dealing with our losses I remained positive and told myself it happened for a reason. Of course that doesn't make it hurt less, and I will never forget. But I will always remember the reason! The reason for our losses and struggles through our infertility journey is TEGAN! Our sweet bubbly blonde little miracle! God had her in his plans for us; we just had to continue down life's path to find her :)

She is the sweetest most perfect gift we could have ever been blessed with! She is the sunshine to our days and the laughter in all our happiness! She is simply amazing and I don't think I could ever find the right words to express what Zachary and her mean to me!

Little miss Tegan is now the proud owner of a brand new molar!!! Her very first molar finally(after 2 months)made it's way into her little smile. Molar number two isn't too far behind.

This past sunday Zach, Tegan and I went on a little family shopping trip. I always enjoy spending the day out with them. We went to Target and got Tegan a few summer outfits, a spring jacket, some sandals and a new swim suite. Little miss is becoming more and more of a big girl. She doesn't like to be held when out and ridding in the cart and stroller is so uncool. So she proudly holds my hand and walks around like a big girl stopping to say "oooh" or "oh wow" at anything that peaks her interest.
After a wonderful day out we came home and got comfy in our pj's. We played with our giggle box while watching the saints win! :) (woot!). Once our precious little cupcake was sound asleep in my arms I laid her in bed and Zachary and I proceeded to the bedroom where we had our date with the xbox. I admit it, he may have corrupted me just a little bit! But I sure love him! Not too many people can truly say they married their best friend and soul mate! I can :)

February is only a day away!

Can that really be true?? I can't believe Monday will mark the start of February! It doesn't even feel as though the holidays have come and gone! It is hard to grasp the fact that we are now in 2010 let alone that it is almost February. February is a month of "love" or so the hallmark holiday claims. To Zachary and I this particular month brings many memories of happiness and heart ache. It was in February of 2007 that we found out we were pregnant for the first time. I still remember getting that phone call and crying out of happiness. We excitedly drove to get flowers to deliver to the grandma's to be at work. We laughed the entire car ride and couldn't believe our dreams were really going to come true; that we could get it so easy. Feb 14th was such an amazing day full of happiness. It was a day that we will never forget. Sadly the following day was the total opposite as I started losing our pregnancy. It was a day of heartache and one of the hardest things I have ever been through. It was also a day of hope and things to come. We finally knew we could get pregnant. That one day we would hold our very own sweet little miracle, and last year I did. I held my precious almost 3 month old little girl in my arms.
This year I will have a running giggly almost 15 month old with bouncing pig tails and pink toenails. Tegan is growing up so fast! She has such a personality. I can see strong traits of both Zach and I shining through her. She has her daddy's patience and my need to make things perfect, daddy's humor and my grace(or lack of). Tegan loves to re arrange things and place them where she sees fit. It is a normal day when I find a picture frame missing from it's location and nicely placed somewhere else as if I moved it myself. She finds the smallest things funny and will continue to laugh about them forever(something her daddy is known for :) Tegan will be walking through the house and trip over her own feet and land on her face(poor girl is just like me!) It is so amazing seeing both Zachary and I blended together in the makes of such an adorable and perfect little girl!

She is SO sweet and lovable! There is nothing like hearing those little feet run through the house to find you and give you a big hug and kiss. She still cuddles up with us for her afternoon naps :) There is nothing like that sweet little girl sleeping soundly in your arms(if only you could feel your arms!)

We are all doing wonderful :) Tegan is a happy healthy toddler exploring and learning the world around her. She is cutting in two of her one year molars, and has been since the start of january. She is learning her body parts and animal sounds and she surprises us with a new words every now and then. Her vocab consists of mama, daddy, cat, yeah, no, bye, like, oh and wow. She will gladly show you where your nose and mouth are. She picked up what a monkey says in 10 mins but wont tell me what the easier animals say(cow, pig). It is adorable hearing her do the complete "oooh ooh eeh aah ahh".

Barney is out and the little Einsteins are in. She will pat her lap and raise her arms with them to help get rocket to blast off! haha

Zachary and I are great! Just as crazy madly in love as we were the day we got married, ok maybe more :) We have never been happier! He is my soul mate and the man of my dreams. I pray that one day Tegan finds someone as amazing as her daddy!

Love & Nature

For some reason I have a strong love for Owls. Maybe it is their soothing sound in the night or the amount of whimsy they add to the world. Zachary and I have been making lists on items to buy Tegan for her birthday and christmas this year. Yes I understand christmas just ended but please believe me when I tell you I am NOT crazy. Last year we began our holiday shopping with our income tax return rather than waiting until late october like we have in previous years. The huge head start gave us the ability to provide our family with a good christmas without the stress of money and holiday shopping. From here on out we will start our shopping early on in the year; it just makes sense. Thankfully we have an attic to hide gifts in for future years when Tegan turns into miss snoopy.(I can't even get into the attic).

We have decided to buy Tegan a new bedroom set as one of her gifts. I HATE princess, dora, elmo, movie/tv themed bedding. It seems so common, boring and they outgrow it fast. We wanted something original, adorable, girlie, and whimsical for tegan's room. When we came across circo's Love & Nature set we knew it was the one!!! It is perfect for Tegan's room! It fits perfect with her pink and green color scheme and her little white picket fence wall.

The holiday season has come to an end and here we are at the start of 2010!! It's a new millennium :)I was a twelve year old in eighth grade at the start and here I am at the end a 22 year old married mother of a 1 year old. It is crazy thinking about all that this millennium has in store of us. When it comes to it's end I will have an eleven year old! It is crazy to think about such things!!!

We had a wonderful and oh so merry christmas!! Tegan makes the holiday season so much more fun. She brings out the child in Zach and I and adds a special joy to everything!

We started off the holiday by going to my grandma's for christmas with my dads side of the family. Zach and I giggled when thinking back on christmas last year. Tegan was a month old and dressed in her miss clause outfit that she wore for a whole hour before she peed all over her clothes and my grandma's bed during a diaper change.(all pics were taken in our spare outfit from the diaper bag) This year she was running all over and having a blast with the other kids. It is mind boggling to think that we have a running, giggly one year old!!!

After spending christmas eve at my grandmas we came home and settled in for the night. Zach's parents and my sister stayed the night so they could have christmas morning with us and see Tegan open her gifts. We were all awake at 6:30 anxiously awaiting Tegan's little eyes to open. The one day I want her to wake she decides she needs to sleep in.
Tegan finally awoke on christmas morning with a very smiley mommy looking down on her. I was so excited to bring her to the living room to see her kitchen and open gifts! She Loved everything and constantly giggled and said "oh wow" to everything!

After opening gifts and having some yummy stuffed baked apples for breakfast we got ready for christmas day at my moms house. After the hour drive we were finally there; where we opened gifts and ate a wonderful christmas dinner.

To finish off the holiday we went to Zach's parents house where we filled up on snacks, played games and laughed until our eye lids took over.

It was a very busy overly fun few days consisting of too much laughter and very little sleep. Days in which we are still trying to recover from. We spent the rest of the weekend putting away toys and trying to get our house and daily routine back into gear. Our christmas tree came down and tegan's toys moved in.

Disney on Ice

Yesterday Zachary, his parents and I all took Tegan to see Disney on Ice. I was very nervous yet incredibly excited! I wasn't sure how Tegan would handle sitting on our laps for 2 hours, but she surprised us all!!! On our way to our seats we bought Tegan a toy Minnie Mouse to remember the day by. She proudly held on to her Minnie the entire duration of the show :)

Of course the kid in Zach needed a souvenir too so he went with a snow cone in a cup of his favorite Disney character Stitch!
Tegan slept through half the show and smiled through the rest :)
I found myself constantly fighting back the tears. I have always dreamed of having a little one to do such fun events with. Zach and I have always wanted a child of our own to take places and make memories with and holding Tegan while watching her first show was just another reminder that our dreams have really come true.

False promises and updates

It always seems that when I promise to stay on top of my blog I fall behind. So no more false promises!!! The truth is that I will update whenever I can. Life with a RUNNING toddler is a busy one. It is hard to even take a shower most days. My daily showers consist of Tegan standing by the tub opening the shower curtain and throwing her toys into the shower with me (while she soaks herself). She is a running, giggly, toddler and nothing slows her down which in turn means I am always on the run.

So much has gone on yet nothing has really happened since my last post!!! Just the normal holiday hustle and bustle that this time of year brings to us all.
We celebrated our second thanksgiving with our sweet little miracle :)
Tegan is cutting two more teeth and unfortunately got a mild case of the flu last week:( thankfully she had been vaccinated. I can't imagine her having a regular case of it! Our poor little girl walked around screaming in pain from the body aches and only found comfort in my arms. She is such a trooper and continued to smile through it all.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of christmas! Our tree has been up since mid November and our shopping is done. We can't wait to see Tegan's face on christmas morning and watching her open all her gifts!!! Tegan brings a whole new happiness and joy to this time of year :)

We had our first big snow of the year! I bundled Tegan up(a bit too much haha she couldn't even move)and took her out to see the snow!!!

Tegan has made falling asleep at the dinner table a reoccurring event. This makes the fifth time she has done it. One minute she is talking, smiling and eating...the next minute you look over and she is nodding off.

We got Tegan's birthday pictures back! She is looking so much like a little toddler and not so much like a baby. Her face is thinning out and she is taking on her own look. Enjoy :) Christmas pics will be here soon so be on the look out!

a year has passed leaving me the mommy of a TODDLER!

Our sweet little Tegan Marie is now officially a toddler! At 10:41pm on November 19th Tegan turned a year old! Zachary and I had a wonderful day with our birthday girl. Not a single tear was shed until I was laying in bed and looked over to see the clock on 10:41; it was at that moment that I lost it. It was at that exact time last year that our sweet little miracle came into this world and changed our lives forever.

To Celebrate Tegan's birthday we decided a nice day with just the three of us would be perfect :) we had to change Tegan to the forward facing position because her little legs were starting to smash into the back seat. She enjoyed her first ride as a forward facing girl. We took Tegan for her very first happy meal and went to rent a few movies for her.
It was a wonderful day of smiles, reminiscing, tears and pure happiness.

Friday we had Tegan's big one year check up. Our sweet little girl had to have a few too many shots and her blood work done(something I'll never forget). We learned that our once 7lb 11oz newborn is now a big 21 lbs 7oz and 30.5 inches tall! The dr said she is a a very beautiful mild tempered healthy little girl :) she is very tall for her age placing her in the 90th percentile for height.

Saturday morning was here before we knew it! We were all excited for Tegan's first birthday party :) we left here around 11:30 to set up and decorate and before we knew it it was 1pm and the guests were arriving! About 50 people came to celebrate the day with us! We had such a wonderful time!!! Tegan got so many wonderful gifts. Tegan did better than I could have ever imagined! We made it through the entire party without a single tear or meltdown. She didn't care that she missed her nap, or that there were tons of people around. She took in all the attention and had such a blast! She started to drain of energy by the end of the party and we thought for sure she would crash as soon as we got home. Tegan proved us all wrong by staying awake and playing with her toys until bedtime.

goose eggs and christmas spirit

The other day Tegan had her first big owie resulting in her very first goose egg! Learning to run and jump brings an entire new world into our lives...the world of bruises, scrapes and too many tears. Tegan went to bend over and lost her balance causing her little head to crash down on the sub woofer. I ran to her and picked her up in my arms trying to fight back my own tears. What was a little white scratch when I picked her up quickly turned into a huge scrape and bruised goose egg :( Zach ran for the motrin and ice while I was heading out the door to the ER. As soon as I got her outside she was smiling and talking as if nothing happened. We decided she was just fine so I called the ER instead. She was up and running around and playing not even 20 minutes after her fall. She handled it so well, where as I cried every time I looked at her poor little head.
After trying and trying to fight back all our excitement for the upcoming holiday season we finally just gave in and put up the christmas tree. Our new tradition will be to decorate for christmas and put the tree up the sunday before Tegan's birthday. Our shopping is just about done, the gifts are wrapped and put under the tree and that holiday feel is in the air! We can't wait for this christmas! Tegan will open her own gifts and play with her toys :) I can't believe I will have a one year old this christmas! Tegan's birthday is quickly approaching! Only 3 days and counting. This week is a busy week of baking, cleaning and finishing up last minute plans before her big birthday bash:)

Indian Summer and Piggie Tails

After surviving 35 degree days and our very first snow in October it is finally here... INDIAN SUMMER!!!! Those few unexpected days of unbelievable warmth that cause the entire neighborhood to be outside. Just a little touch of summer to warm our hearts before winter hits. Our temperatures the past few days have hit the high 60's and we have been taking full advantage of the sunshine!

We decided to spend yesterday morning playing at the park. Tegan ran through the grass and played in the leaves. She had such a wonderful time and used every last bit of energy she had. After about two hours of playing out in the fresh air we came back home to get ready for lunch. Tegan fell asleep while Zach was changing her little butt, and continued to sleep for the following hour!

After her nap we all ate some frozen pizza before Zach had to head off to work. Tegan loved her first taste of pizza and ate almost an entire piece all by herself!(cut up into small bite size pieces of course)

Today will be added to Tegan's book of many first. After her bath I managed to find enough hair on her little head for her very first pig tails!!!!

13 days and counting

I can't believe it has almost been a month since I have update my blog. Life with a now toddler makes for short days, and before you know it a month has passed. Only 13 days and counting until our sweet little miracle turns a year old!

In the past month Tegan has gone from a baby to a full blown toddler. It is amazing the changes that take place in a months time. Her wobbly little steps have turned into casual jogs around the house.

Two new teeth have made a home in her mouth making for a grand total of six pearly whites.

Her hair has reached new lengths allowing for her very first ponytail!
Eating from a spoon is no longer acceptable in her eyes, finger foods are the way to go.
She will now walk up to you and melt your heart with one of her big hugs or sweet kisses. Her favorite book is "Shake it up baby" and she never settles for hearing it once; three or four times is considered acceptable. Tegan's favorite song is "daylight" by Matt and Kim. No matter where she is or what her mood is she will automatically smile and bust a move at the sound of the first two beats.

We have been enjoying our fall with trips to the pumpkin patch, playing in the leaves, carving pumpkins and Tegan's very first halloween. She is SO much fun!!! She loved our trip to the pumpkin patch and was excited to walk around like a big girl and see all the new sights.

Halloween was a blast! We dressed Tegan up as a little lamb and took her around the block for trick or treating fun! She loved seeing new faces and gave smiles to everyone in exchange for candy.

the start of the holiday season is among us!

We are at the start of all the holiday festivities here in the Wright house. I have been talking for months about all the excitement that October brings, and it is finally here.

Last Thursday I turned a whole twenty two years old. I felt so blessed to be able to cuddle up with my sweet little miracle for my birthday. She is by far the best gift in the world!
Due to the fact that my birthday was on a Thursday and Zach had to work through Saturday, we took Sunday to celebrate. We got up early and headed up to my moms house where we stayed the night. My mom watched Tegan for a while so Zachary and I could go out shopping for some alone time. Not even ten minutes into our outing we greatly missed Tegan and were calling to check on her. We found ourselves in the baby clothing stores and toy areas every where we went. It was like there was a gravitational pull reeling us in. Needless to say we went back to my moms with some new clothes and christmas gifts for our little sweet tart. After our little couples outing we all went out to eat at buffalo wild wings, which was AMAZING! We then spent the rest of the night at my moms playing with Tegan where Tegan decided to take her first steps!!!!!!!!

The excitement only continues through out the remainder of the year. This Thursday is mine and Zach's four year wedding anniversary! We are going take a trip to six flags for fright fest to celebrate. It was there that we started falling for each other seven years ago. Aside from all our celebrating we have been hard at work planning and getting ready for Tegan's quickly approaching first birthday! Each day we find ourselves more and more excited for her big party!

Living Life

Living life with a ten month old is even more wonderful than we had ever dreamed it would be. Tegan is learning and exploring everything there is about the world around her. She shows so much attention to details and sounds and makes us look at the world in a whole other light. She is our little window into the world we forgot about...the world of childhood. I am always talking about how each month Tegan wakes up a different baby, while much of that is true, I am starting to realize that the truth is that each month Tegan wakes up less like a baby.

In the past eleven days since Tegan woke up as a big 10 month old she has changed so much! Tegan has decided that she no longer wants to eat anything off of a spoon; being a big girl and feeding herself is the only way to go! Her favorite foods are pancakes, cheerios, yogurt bites and dried apples. Her least favorite foods are(by least I mean she gags and spits them out, then proceeds to feed them to the dog) scrambled eggs, bananas, and pasta. I think the whole soft slimy texture throws her off. What better way to start eating big girl foods then with TWO new teeth?! This week her top front teeth decided to make their grand experience, and now I get to listen to the un-godly gritting sound she makes. ick!

New tricks our always getting pulled out of her little hat, or bow in her case, haha. This weeks trick is assisted walking! Yesterday morning Tegan crawled over to her walker, stood up and started walking across the living room!!!! I just can't believe that our little girl is big enough to walk!!! I am just waiting for the day that she starts walking alone!

We are working on teaching Tegan simple signs to help her to better communicate with us. She gets the worlds biggest smile on her face when I sign to her. She thinks it is the funniest thing in the world! I can't wait for the day that she signs something to me!!!!

We are all wonderful in the Wright house. Things couldn't be better and we couldn't be happier. Life as parents is everything we wanted and more. Life is grand :)

I can't believe we are nearly half way through the month of September already! October is just around the corner which means I will be another year older and celebrating another year with my darling hubby! It means that we are closer and closer to Tegan's first birthday extravaganza and all that comes with having a big one year old! I have really dug into the party planning and have found myself getting more and more excited about the bittersweet event. We booked the banquet room to host the party, it is beautiful and perfect in every way! I have designed and ordered Tegan's invites which should arrive sometime next week (fingers crossed). I am currently working on party favors and the happy birthday banner, and continually looking for and thinking about other party ideas that will fit into the cupcake theme.

Tegan is growing up so fast and she never ceases to amaze me! She is always pulling new little tricks out of her hat. She is crawling and chasing after the cats in lightening speed. One minute you see her playing quietly on the floor, the next minute she is across the living room, I swear she has a teleportation super power! She now thinks it is fun to stand like a big girl and let go while making my nerves go haywire! I see walking in her near future; that is something that is just mind boggling to me. It is hard to picture her teeny little bald self walking around the house!

Things are great and we couldn't be happier; I guess you could say that all is well in the Wright house :)

Our little Tegan is becoming less and less of a baby and more like a toddler every day! It always feels as if she pulls a new trick out of her hat with each month mark! At four months she decided she would tolerate tummy time, at seven months she started rolling all over the house, here she is nine months old with a whole new bag of tricks! Tegan has learned to pull herself up to stand, and quickly found how to carefully sit back down with a graceful "plop". Last night out of no where she decided it was time to let go of her normal scooting backwards ways and take on a whole new way of getting around! Tegan is now a crawler! As with anything she does, she has added her own little flair of style! She strives to be different from other babies and wants to stand out and be heard and seen for that matter! She adds a special ray of sunshine to everything she does!!!!!

Today was Tegan's 9 month check up and shots! I was incredibly excited to see how much our little one has grown over the past few months. I knew she was getting big but I had no idea just how big. In my eyes Tegan is still my teeny little baby. In fact I get upset when people tell me she is huge, because the baby I see everyday is a petite little thing...well for a Wright baby that is. Anyone that knows us Wrights know that we grow big babies!! Tegan Marie is measuring in at 19 1/2 pounds and a whole 28 1/4 inches long(lets face it, she will be as tall as me by kindergarten haha)! Dr Martinez laughed when filling in Tegan's new stats on her growth chart. Apparently babies normally slow in growth around 9 months causing their chart to level out or somewhat drop, Tegan made quite the peak in her chart! Clearly Tegan is far too cool to be like those other kids :P Tegan is thriving and is as healthy as can be. Of course she fights to be against the norm, as a result we had to have a dose increase on her prevacid and we are still fighting those darn tear duct to open.

Tegan is pulling her self up, scooting backwards and making her way around the house quite well now days! She says "mama" "dada" and "baba" along with a few other choice babbles that only she can understand. She knows how to melt our hearts in more ways than one! There is nothing like those little arms reaching out for you saying mama. We brought Tegan to bed with us early the other morning after a tough night, Tegan layed awake and saw that daddy's eyes had opened. She smiled and looked at him and said "dada". If that doesn't start your day off with a smile I don't know what will! She is such a little gem in our lives. She completes us in so many ways :)

I have yet again broken my promise of regular updates. With all that has been going on, there hasn't been enough time in a day to write a blog. As some of you know, Zachary was laid off of work for most of July. We very much enjoyed having Zach home with us and the financial strain was totally worth it! Tegan LOVES her daddy and the month off allowed him to really connect with her and get to know her and her changing personality.

Tegan is wonderful!!!! She is getting to be such a big girl! Looking at her makes it hard to remember that teeny newborn I once held. Tegan now has two pearly whites, and some very light blonde hair. She is rolling around, and scooting backwards to get where she wants to go. She hasn't figured out how to crawl forward yet, either that or she finds reverse more efficient :) She is pulling up on things and discovering all that is around her. Her little personality comes out more and more each day! Tegan sure is a bright bubbly little ray of sunshine! Her smile lights up the room!

So much has gone on since I last blogged. We helped my mom make the hour away move to her new house with her boyfriend. Zach worked hard painting my sisters new room while I helped with the rest of the house. It was hard to see them move so far away, yet I couldn't be happier for them. I sewed Zebra curtains to complete my sisters dream room and used the left over fabric to sew Tegan a new dress. Can you find Tegan??

This past weekend was Zachary's brother Tyler's big wedding! It has been a long time coming and we couldn't wait to take part in the celebration. Zach's oldest brother and his family came up from Texas for the weekend wedding fun in chicago. My new sister in law is from india so we had the mylangi ceremony friday night along with the wedding rehearsal. To make things easier we stayed the weekend in a hotel along with the rest of the bridal party and family. Saturday was the beautiful wedding and reception. We had a total blast! Before we drove home on sunday we took the kids to the aqurium :) it was a very wonderful yet very busy weekend! Tegan handled all the business so well. She didn't fuss once (she is just still catching up on sleep).

I love to hold Tegan in my arms and dance around the house for hours!!! Tegan loves dancing with mommy, she usually laughs and waves her arms around!!! Fourth of July weekend

Friday we went to Zachary's parents house to grill out and play some bat-mitten to get the holiday weekend started! Tegan enjoyed the day outside playing under the shade tree and taking in the fresh air. After taking tons of pictures of Tegan with grandma Dee's flowers we learned that Tegan has a horrible allergy to pollen. When She awoke from her nap she could hardly breath through her little nose. Our poor little girl was so stuffy by the end of the night! There is nothing more heart breaking than watching your little girl try to suck her thumb and having to take breaks to breath!!! She is so much like her daddy in so many ways, sadly his allergies had to be one of the traits she inherited from daddy.

We have been anxiously awaiting our first fourth of July as a family of three. I remember being pregnant at the fireworks last year daydreaming about how it would be. Just thinking about how wonderful it would be having our miracle baby in my arms during all the holiday festivities. I was so excited to be able to take Tegan to the parade, then swimming at my moms all day and go watch the fire works as a family later that night. Sadly mother nature decided to rain on our parade :( We didn't get to watch the parade and we didn't get to go swimming but it did thankfully clear up just in time to make it to the fireworks!!! We were a bit nervous as to how Tegan would handle them but to our surprise she LOVED them!!! You would never even know that she was 3 hours past her bedtime, she was such a good girl!!! I can't wait for next year to get here so we can do it again, hopefully with tons of sunshine, parade fun, and swimming.

I am very sorry for my slacking on blog writting, I haven't at all forgotten about updating you all. It is just a matter of trying to find time to do so. I promise I will try harder, and lets face it...there will be more things to share with Tegan getting older so I better make habit of weekly or bi-weekly blogs. Now only do I blog to keep everyone updated with our lives and our sweet growing girl, but I also do it so I have all our memories and such documented for my keeping :) it is always fun to look back at time and see what you were doing or what you had to say at that stage of your life!

We are currently going through a small rough patch, but it isn't anything that we can't get through. Zachary got laid off from work for a few weeks thanks to the recession. On the plus side Tegan and I get to spend more time with Zach. That is something that no amount of money can buy!

Our summer days have been filling up quite fast. We start out a week saying that we are going to just sit home and relax and by the time the weekend gets here we realize we were busy every day and little to no relaxing actually happened. From swimming to grocery shopping, dr appointments to spending time outside, or days with friends and family our summer has been flying by! I can't believe it is July already!!!!!

Her first birthday is only a few months around the corner and before I know it she will be walking around the house and getting into everything!!!

7 months?!

Yesterday Tegan reached seven months of age! It is a confusing feeling; it feels like I just had her yesterday, yet it feels like she has been here forever. Maybe that is because I can barely remember her being that little tiny newborn I first held. It is odd to me that in only 5 months time we will be celebrating Tegan's first year of life and she will no longer be a baby! She will be walking and saying her first words! Our baby is growing up so fast!!! Tegan broke through her first tooth last week!!!! Don't let those little baby teeth fool you, they are sharp! The scab on my finger is proof :)(click on the picture below for a closer look at that new pearly white)
Tegan was still having trouble with her reflux, even with being on her prevacid we had projectile issues. I called her pedi and they advised us to switch Tegan to enfamil AR which is a very very thick formula for babies who spit up a lot. The AR is a miracle worker!!! Since the switch she has been a new baby!!!
Tegan and I anxiously awaiting fathers day! We have made it so close which makes it even harder to hold off on gift giving!!! Tegan and I worked hard on Zach's gifts, we wanted to give him something special and memorable. Ever since Tegan was born we would wake daddy up with "naked tegan butt stamps" before her bath. So as one of Zachary's gifts I painted her butt and stamped it on paper, scanned it and added a poem to it in photoshop so we could make a coffee cup out of it. Zach is a major coffee lover so I knew this gift would be something he would love and cherish forever.
Tegan painted daddy a pretty picture using her little feet :) which I framed. This was her very first painting :) maybe one day she will grow to be an artist just like her daddy. His last gift is a big slide show of Zach and Tegan, I added a menu to it and put it on a dvd :) I worked very hard on it and I can't wait to give him all his gifts and cards tomorrow morning with breakfast in bed! Happy Fathers Day to all you daddy's!!!!!!

6 1/2 months!

ALREADY!!!!!! It feels like Tegan just hit 6 months yesterday yet I am 11 days away from her turning 7 months old! Before I know it Tegan will be blowing out that candle at her first birthday! Tegan is a little girl that knows what she wants! She LOVES to be outside, whether it is just a nice stroll with mommy, sitting in the grass, or swinging on the swings at the park. When she is crying all you have to do is walk towards the door she is all smiles and giggles!! She is such a sweet little girl!

Zachary and I took Tegan on a nice wagon ride down to the ice cream shop for some ice cream! After a taste she decided she wanted mommy's cone! After our ice cream we went to the other park in town for a change of scenery. Tegan had a blast and passed out in her wagon on the walk home. We were able to carry the wagon inside and there she continued to sleep for over an hour!

Tegan should have a tooth breaking through any day now!! (fingers crossed) She has been eating less, sleeping more and today I noticed that the skin is now broken! Now we wait for that little tooth to make its grand entrance!!!

Tegan is doing sooo much better with being on the prevacid! We were told that it can take up to a week before we notice a change; already she is throwing up less!!! I feel so much better knowing my baby isn't in pain all day.

Tegan LOVES pears, she gobbled down 3 tablespoons full last night.

This morning as I was changing Tegan's diaper I noticed that she no longer has a vaginal adhesion! Yesterday it was only attached by a teeny tiny bit of skin, and today it is fully opened!!! This is such wonderful news!!! I dont know to worry about estrogen cream or further measures to open it. Now I just pray that it stays open and doesn't reseal. I had problems with mine until I was three and had to have it opened so cross your fingers that she isn't like her mommy in that sense.

Her tear ducts are still blocked. They are slowly getting better but still a pain. She is getting to the age that I have to fight her to clean her eyes and massage the ducts so I really hope and pray they open soon so they too can be a thing of the past!

We got Tegan a big girl bathtub yesterday while at walmart! We got her a pink ducky bath so that she can sit up like a big girl and splash and play during bathtime safely. She LOVES it and now gets upset when I take her out of the bath! She is going to be a water baby :)

Tegan is more giggly than ever :) She giggles at the cats, at the tv, during her baths, and at mommy and daddy's silly faces. There is nothing like a big baby giggle to brighten your day!!!

6 Month Update

Today was Tegan's 6 month check up and shots. This was her first appointment with her new pediatrician and I can honestly say that I left happy! Her new dr is nothing but amazing and I am so very happy that I took the plunge and decided to switch Tegan to her care. She was very friendly, welcoming and was great with Tegan! Dr. Martinez took the time to talk with us and answer all of our questions and understand our concerns. She LOVED Tegan and couldn't get over how adorable she was, she even had to pick her up and play with her for a bit! Tegan is doing great!!! She is now 16lbs and 26 1/2 inches long! Size 3 diapers here we come!!! Tegan is growing right along track and developing beautifully, with the exception of skipping the rolling over milestone ;) Dr. Martinez was very impressed with our care for Tegan and told us we were doing a fabulous job and that Tegan was nothing but a beautiful, happy, healthy, baby girl(I pat myself and zach on the back!) Tegan is now on prevacid once a day for her reflux. Dr. Martinez couldn't believe that Dr. Shah never had Tegan on anything for the bad case of reflux my poor baby has. Tegan's vaginal opening is starting to thin out and open on its own so as of now no estrogen cream or further measures are needed. We are to keep an eye on it and be sure that it doesn't seal back closed. Tegan now has the green light to switch to big girl food ;) I am excited to introduce her to all the new yummy flavors and textures!!! Our baby is growing up much too fast!!! Here are her 6 month photos, our scanner isn't hooked up at the moment so I had to take a picture of the pictures so the quality isn't great, but at least you get to see them. (along with a few others of course!)

Our little Tegan is growing more and more each day! She is learning new things and gaining more and more of a personality! She has been sitting up like a big girl for about a week now and finally she is taking some interest in rolling over. She can go from her back to belly (just as she did once before at 6 weeks) but I am wondering if she will ever learn to go from belly to back? After a few attempts I finally got it on video! I have created a little ham! Every time she sees the camera she stops whatever she is doing to look at me and smile! Zach and I were laughing so hard the other night because she was laying on the floor sucking her thumb and as soon as she heard the camera turn on she pulled her thumb out and gave me the biggest smile ever(we made a game out of it and she continued to go back to her thumb until she heard the camera again! haha) Needless to say, I have to be VERY sneaky to get her on video.

We are taking Tegan to have her 6 month pictures done tomorrow!!! I will have another big photo to add to my wall, before I know it my house will be a shrine of Tegan. This weekend will be another busy one. I have a formal bridal shower to attend Saturday at 5pm near chicago which means I wont have as much Tegan time as I am used to. I will be away for most of the afternoon and I wont be home in time to read bedtime stories and tuck Tegan into bed for the night. I am sure it will hurt me more than it hurts her, so pray that I make it through without too many tears!! I can't help but feel horrible for being away from her....am I crazy??

Mommy to a 6 month old!

Today my sweet baby girl turned 6 months old! Six months ago at this time I was sitting in labor and delivery waiting for my c-section yet in six months from now she will be celebrating her first birthday. I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how big she is getting! As I look back at old pictures I can't fully remember her being so small, the baby in the pictures doesn't even look like Tegan. She has changed in looks and personality so much in the past months! I am excited to see how much she changes in the next six months. I try to imagine how she will look on her first birthday, how big she will be, will she have hair, what will her favorite toy be, what book will she like?? Before I know it all the answers will be right in front of me. Tegan is doing great!!! She is now sitting up like a big girl(as of 5 days ago!)She still isn't rolling over, I suppose it is too boring for her. We have her 6 month check up and shots next tuesday! I an very anxious to see how much she weighs and how long she has gotten!!!!

We are doing alright, we have hit a few rough patches here in the wright house. We got our first 64 hour pay check(for two weeks) and it was a slap in the face! Zach got news that they are going to have to take 2-3 weeks off with no pay at the beginning of July. I hope the economy picks up soon, I dont know what we are going to do. Somehow some way we will make it, we always do!

Stop and smell the Flowers

We HAD a little taste of spring that lasted a few week with blooming flowers and warm sunshine. Sadly cold is back to remind us that summer is very far away still. There is never any telling what the mid west is going to give you weather wise. I cant' wait for the warmth and sunshine to return for good so we can go on daily walks with Tegan. There is this very long trail that starts here in town and connects to the other town 11 miles over. It is a trail of nothing but gravel/grassy paths with trees overhead, flowers and wildlife. Tegan is doing very well! She is getting closer and closer to her 6 month birthday! It is just crazy to think that in a few more months I will be planning her first birthday! Her eyes are getting better and better, hopefully in another month blocked ducts will be a thing of the past. Her reflux is just the same so hopefully something will be done about it at her six month check up and shots.

It feels as though it has been forever since I have blogged! So much has been going on and there isn't enough time in a day or enough days of the week, before I know it another week is gone! We are doing wonderful and staying as busy as ever with very little down time!

Zachary had his colonoscopy this past monday and had nothing but good results. A few weeks back he was seen in the ER and diagnosed with diverticulitis, due to his age he was refereed to a specialist to have a colonoscopy to be on the safe side. His results showed absolutely no polyps, no hemorrhoids, no pouches, no nothing..the end results were that he is a healthy man with OUT diverticulitis! The dr said that his ct scan that was read in the er was misinterpreted as being diverticulitis when in reality it was an abdominal infection!

On tuesday Zach and I got in the zone with the zone diet and daily cross fit training! We wanted to better our health and well being and get into better shape for Tegan and her future. I am LOVING it and already feeling awesome, I even love the burn in my legs from the workouts. Burn baby burn!

Tegan is wonderful! She will be 6 months old on the 19th already. She is growing like a little weed and looking and acting less and less like a baby every day. She now giggles all the time and always has a smile on her face. We are still fighting issues with her reflux and blocked tear ducts, some days I wonder if they will ever get better. I made the decision to switch Tegan to a new pedi in hopes that someone will help my baby! I wasn't ever impressed with the dr's office or the care we received but I felt horrible and mean for thinking about leaving. After leaving last appointment unsatisfied I decided to take the plunge and switch. Dr. Shah wouldn't do a single thing for Tegan's reflux because she is gaining weight on track; I can't stand watching Tegan puke up (all day) acidic formula and saliva anymore. I know Tegan is in pain because every time she throws up she makes a weird face, makes a sound of discomfort and thrashes her head from side to side. It isn't fair to make her suffer so I pray that her new dr will do something for her. Her tear ducts are starting to get better but they are still slightly blocked, I can't wait for the day that she no longer has this issue. Her vaginal opening looks like it is slowly starting to separate on its own, hopefully it wont need estrogen cream or further measures to open it completely. I will of course discuss all of these issues with her new dr at her 6 month check up on the 26th of may.

Today I had to retire most of Tegan's 3-6 month clothes! I just can't believe how much she has grown!!! She is now eating her big girl food(cereal) daily and so far her tummy seems to be handling it. She still isn't rolling over and hasn't even shown any desire to until today. I was just commenting on how she isn't rolling over and doesn't even try to and all of a sudden Tegan started trying to only minutes after I was talking about hear. Clearly she wants to prove me wrong :) I had the camera sitting right next to me so I caught her on tape! Such a proud mommy moment!!!

Ahead of us is a very busy month! This weekend we have to go to chicago so I can be measured to have my sari blouse made for my brother in laws wedding (his soon to be wife is Indian). After our stop at the seamstress we have to go to cake tasting to give our opinions (I will have to use my cheat day). Sunday we are going to a cook out at my mommy's house for mothers day. Next weekend is my sisters senior prom(I am doing hair) and grand march, I have Liz's bridal shower the following weekend and the last weekend in may is my sisters high school graduation. Busy Busy! I hope everyone is well! I will try to take time out of all the craziness to update and post pictures.

Last week we took a nice trip to Texas to see my brother in law and his family! It was a much needed trip that we have been looking forward to for quite some time now! I was nervous to take Tegan on the flights to and from, but she exceeded my exceptions and was such a good girl! Even with waking up at 4am to get ready for our flight she was all smiles! We left snowy Milwaukee to land in 95 degree sunny Texas, it was such a huge change! We had a wonderful time with Gabe, Lori and my niece Morgan and nephew Ayden. We grilled out, played games, us girls went shopping and we all went to the zoo. It never rains in texas, yet the day we go to the zoo it decides to! A few rain drops didn't ruin our day, we had a blast anyway!!! Tegan LOVED the fish, she was giggling up a storm at the sight of those slimy gilled creatures. Zach and I are seriously considering getting Tegan an aquarium and some fish for home.

Tegan is now 5 months old and changing soo much! She plays with her toys, loves peek a boo, babbles up a storm and fills the house with her little(but loud) squeals and giggles. For some reason every morning at 5 Tegan puts on a LOUD concert for the entire house to hear, after a bottle and clean but she will usually go back to sleep until 7. She is now up to eating 6oz bottles and I am giving cereal a try again. Her tongue thrust reflux is getting better so she is getting more food in her mouth rather than on her chin.

Zachary, Tegan and I are LOVING having Zach on second shift! It makes our life more normal! We can wake up together and spend most of the day together and sleep together at night. Zach has more time to spend with Tegan, and Tegan gets to have her daddy rather than a zombie as a part of her life. We just got news a few days ago that they will be cut down to 32 hours a week. It shouldnt be for too long, but in the mean time I have no idea what we are going to do. We are going to call and see about a consolidation loan and I am going to try for wic(with his hours cut we should qualify). It will all work out, as long as we are happy, healthy and together that is all that really matters..everything else will fall into place.

Zach and I are going to start the zone diet and cross fit training on monday! I am SO excited to make the lifestyle change and get healthy and fit to better my energy and such for Tegan. My goal is to lose 10-15 pounds and tone up and get in shape. I will defiantly share our progress with everyone so wish us luck!

We had such a wonderful weekend here in the house of the Wrights! Zachary's brother Tyler came down from Aurora on Friday to spend the weekend with us. Saturday was Zach's 23rd birthday so we had a small surprise birthday party for him here at our house! We had tons of yummy food and a lot of fun playing games and spending time with the family. It was so nice to reflect on his past year of life and all that had happened in such a small span of time. On his birthday last year I was 7 weeks pregnant with our little sweet tart and this year he was able to hold his baby girl in his arms! Tegan made daddy a special card (with mommy's help of course) and made daddy cry! Easter Sunday we went to church and then went to Zach's parents for a small dinner. I couldn't help but tear up while in zach's arms when dad was praying before we ate. He said a small thank you for our sweet baby girl(who happened to be babbling away on the floor), it made me think of last easter when he said a simular prayer but instead he was praying for a smooth pregnancy and our beautiful miracle and dream come true. After dinner we played some wii, then had to head home due to pure exhaustion from a busy weekend.

It was such a wonderful feeling going to bed with Zach last night thinking about how today he would start the day being a second shift man. No more was I going to have to go to bed alone and be without him during the day while he slept. It was nice to wake up knowing that today is the start of a new routine and a new way of life for us. A way of life that will allow Tegan to spend more time with her daddy, I am so excited for that! I awoke to Tegan at 6:30 this morning excited knowing that Zach would be up with us shortly. I made him pancakes and coffee to start of our day! This was a very much needed change! Once again our prayers have been answered!!

I wanted to stop in and give a small update and share a few pictures while everyone in the house is sleeping. Today is Zachary's last day working his 12 hour night swing shift!!! Starting monday he will be a second shift man that gets to come home and sleep at night with his wife and wake up to his sweet little girl. I am so excited that he gets to start a regular human sleep schedule! This Saturday is Zach's 23rd birthday so we are going to spend the day with family and grill out and celebrate another year of life. Last year on his birthday I was 7 weeks pregnant and here we are with a 4 1/2 month old little girl!!

Tegan is doing well. Yesterday morning we decided to try giving her soy formula to see if it would help her belly. Walmart didn't have the goodstart soy so we had to get the parents choice! I couldn't believe how cheap that stuff is, oh my goodness! 13 bucks felt like nothing when we are used to 23 for formula! So far so good, she doesn't at all mind the change. She still throws up here and there but it is way less than before. I think the soy is just easier on her belly. I noticed that the powder was way finer and softer than regular formula. I tried giving her some baby juice today which she did not like one bit, I dont blame her, cherry apple isn't my kind of thing either. Onto another flavor I suppose. Looks like she is going to have a picky side to her just like her mommy! Tegan is in need of some prayers so please keep her in your thoughts. Her tear ducts are still clogged, I really hope this isn't something that will follow her for years to come like it does some other children. While drying Tegan off after her bath yesterday morning I noticed that she has a small hole under her vaginal opening. Directly below her vaginal opening is a band of skin then little hole. I am wondering if part of her opening is fused together, or if there is a little hole that needs to be sealed up. I have done research on the issue and looked at pictures and such online and it doesn't seem to be her hymen(it isn't over her vaginal opening, and it is a solid band of skin). I know either way it will be a small outpatient procedure to correct it. I swear each day I find that this little girl is more and more like me! When I was little I didn't have a vaginal opening, it was totally sealed shut and had to be opened by the dr when I was 3 or 4 years old(which I remember having done!) I will bring it up with the pedi at tegan's 6 month apt in may. I know it isn't anything serious, but as a mom it still bothers me. I can't believe I didn't notice it before, and for that I feel horrible.

We of course got a 5 generation picture which included Tegan, Zach, Zach's mom Dee, Dee's dad Gary, and his mom Amelia! Amelia is in her 90's and still living alone in her own house baking cookies and cleaning floors on her hands and knees. Some people amaze me! Tegan's crazy uncle cory (zach's best friend) bought Tegan some onsies when she was born and they finally fit her so I had to get pictures of her in her skeleton shirt and her girls rock tee! haha. A few blogs back I asked for every ones prayers for Zachary and his work situation. The slow economy has finally hit his company causing them to go back to 3 shifts of eight hours rather than having 4 shifts of twelve hours. Zachary was working a good position on one of the night shifts. We were a bit scared as to what was going to happen and if he was going to still have a job! We got news today that he did NOT get cut and he is now on a day shift!!!!! YAY!! He still has his same position, he actually took it from a guy that has worked there forever, it just goes to show how hard Zach works. We are so excited that Zach will be home with us at bedtime and wake up with us in the morning. Although second shift sucks, he will be home with us more and have a normal sleeping routine! Thank you all for your prayers!

Also thanks for all the advice on my previous blog. We went to my moms house tonight to dye easter eggs and I talked to her about my concerns. She told me that I was a VERY pukey baby, so it seems as though Tegan is just like her mommy in so many ways! I am still torn with what to do. After all she is healthy and is gaining weight just as she should, the puking is just annoying.

In other news!!!!! I am 6 pounds down from my pre pregnancy weight!!! I haven't done anything lmao other than breast feed for the first two months and be so busy that I haven't had time to sit around bored and munch on junk food. I look good from the side lmao but from the front I want to puke! I treasure my icky belly, because it is my mommy belly and my little miracle gave me that tummy...even if it is icky looking!

I need the help of other mommies. Little miss will be 5 months old on the 19th (already I know!). She is still puking after every single feeding and will continue to do so on and off until the next bottle and the next, it is never ending. She has done this since she was born, she did it while on breast milk and still does it with her formula, I have even tried another brand..still the same. I know a lot of other mommies that have babies Tegan's age and non of them are still pukey. I have expressed my concerns to the dr when Tegan was little and I was told that she probably has reflux like most babies have. Tegan is gaining weight right on track and thriving so nothing more was ever said. I was told to thicken her formula and keep her elevated. None of that helped. She can be sitting perfectly upright and still throw up, thickening her formula hasn't helped either. The only time she doesn't puke is if she eats her baby cereal. Do you think maybe Tegan is a bit sensitive to lactose??? Should I try giving her lactose free formula? Would it hurt to give her lactose free formula? I know she is healthy and growing big but the puking is getting old. she goes through many outfits and bibs a day, and so do I(not bibs haha). I need advice. I know a few of you had your little ones on soy formulas.

I know it has seemed like forever since we started the kitchen remodel and it may seem as though I have forgotten all about sharing pictures. The truth is simply that I have been busy. Busy with my sweet baby girl (who is teething) and my hubby who was sick with diverticulitis. I have had the pictures on here for a while now, and I finally have the time to load them all to share our progress. We still aren't all the way done. I want to take all of the cupboard doors off and paint the cupboard frames burgundy then put the wood doors back on. I saw it in the country sampler and fell in love with the way it looks! What we have gotten done is a huge transformation! Our kitchen was horrid and still complete with the original stove and oven from the 50's! It is so nice to have a nice new stove!!! Our remodel included taking out the counter top stove and the cupboard so that we could put in a new range. Taking the oven out of the wall and turning the new space into a cupboard, putting in new counter tops, sink and faucet. The whoi le transformation only cost us $1100!! I guess in one way a small kitchen is nice! It was a MUCH needed change! I was done to having only one burner that worked, and it sparked the entire time it was on. The oven was too high for me and I burned myself every time I took food out of the oven. So here are the pictures of what we have done soo far, along with a few pictures of the living room(I remember that I never shared the living room since the paint job and floor refinishing we did last year). Of course I have a little dose of Tegan for everyone too, I can't go a blog without sharing her sweet face!!!

Here are a few new pictures of my big girl! I look at her and just can't believe how big she has gotten!!! To think that she will be 5 months old this month blows my mind! She is a little smile box with just a huge personality! Her laughter is soo contagious, I will do anything to hear that loud giggle!!! Tegan is getting HAIR!!! My little bald baby has some fuzzy hair on the top of that sweet little head, I took a picture of it to share with you all! We defiantly have a long long ways to go before I even need to think about a first hair cut! haha. The other day Tegan found her feet! They are now her new favorite thing to play with (aside from her rings).

A lot has been going on here in the Wright house. This economy royally sucks! I have never written a blog about our money or anything, but I need to vent badly and prayers could be used. With the economy being slow Zach's work is getting hit. They are now only working 36 hour weeks which puts our paycheck $200 short a week. It sucks and we are very very tight but we make it. Zach went in to work tonight and got news that they are going back to 3-8 hour shifts rather than having 4-12 hour shifts, which means an entire shift of people are going to get let go. I am very hopeful that he wont get let go, but I can't help but worry. The switch to 8 hours means a pay cut because he will no longer be team leader for one and he may possibly have to step down a position. Just please please please pray that everything goes well and we make the cuts!!!! I don't know what we would do.....

Today Tegan had her 4 month check up and shots! Her appointments are always a bitter sweet thing to both Zach and I! We both get so excited to hear how big she has gotten and love hearing how well she is doing in growth and development but we absolutely hate when we have to put her through the pain of shots. It breaks my heart hearing those pitiful cries but I know it is to her best benefit. Tegan is growing so fast and getting sooo big!!! She is now up to 13lbs 13oz and measures in at 24.5 inches long! That is a weight gain of 2lbs 11oz and a height difference of 2 1/2 inches since her 2 month appointment!!! Dr Shah was very impressed with her growth and giggled at how big she has gotten!!! Her little personality shines through so much, it is hard not to giggle at her and all she does! She did well with her shots, she didn't cry as much as last time. We had to go to babies r us for diapers and formula on the way home and she was talking her little babbles at the top of her lungs! Everybody had to come over and see the little face behind the loud voice lol we got so many compliments on how adorable and how happy she was. No one believed that she had just gotten 3 shots only 10 minutes before stepping foot in the store!!!

Last night Zachary stayed home with Tegan so I could go watch my dad play in a game of Donkey ball. This was the first time our county has done such a thing, I had no idea what to expect!!! It was a fund raiser for our town to raise money for the the fire works and festivities for our let freedom ring celebration on the July 4th week. Zach and I were supposed to go together to watch the ball game and my mom was going to watch Tegan but seems how Zach wasn't feeling well he stayed home with Tegan. It was only my 4th time away from Tegan so it killed me!!! I had a blast, it was hilarious!!! Of course the donkey my dad got was one of the little mean ones that wouldn't let anyone ride him lol and if you got close he would buck you! haha. The best part of the night was that aunt susie arrived!!!! While at the game I started feeling a bit crampy, not to mention I woke up yesterday morning totally annoyed by everything lol. I got home last night and settled into my pj's then really started hurting then bam aunt susie knocked on my door!!! YAY! I am SOOO excited! No birth control for me! I hope that I continue to start on my own so I dont have to go on meds to regulate me, the thought of birth control just makes my stomach turn.

This morning Tegan was playing with Zach and I and she laughed her heart out for a good ten minutes!! Im not sue who laughed more out of the three of us! She sure knows how to brighten the day!!!

We didnt make it to her 4 month appointment because I had Zach in the emergency room all day. Tegan spent the day at grandma and grandpas house. Zach is ok, he has diverticulitis and is on two antibiotics and vicodin for pain. We moved her appointment to this friday :) I will update when we get home.

Here are some new pictures of Tegan. I made her a big fluffy tutu and some pillowcase dresses, they will be perfect for this summer!! She is LOVING tummy time now, I love watching her lift her head up and look around.

oh where oh where is aunt susie at, oh where oh where can she be? I pray that she comes on her on, please god no medicine for me!!!

I am now cd 36 and still no aunt susie ( I have called it aunt susie since I was younger, period, ragg, aunt flow..they all sounded gross to me haha). I was hoping that when I started on my own on feb 14th that it would mark a new beginning for me, yet here I wait. I want so badly to start on my own without the help of meds!!! I hoped so badly that having Tegan would regulate my body and make me normal, but it looks like infertility is going to follow along beside me.

Little miss Tegan makes me so proud!!! It seems as though once she hit that four month mark that she has become a totally new little girl!!! She is eating a table spoon of cereal every night like a big girl. She is sleeping through the night, from 6-6:30!! Tegan now loves to play and she squeals and blows spit bubbles while doing it!! For those that don't remember, we had MAJOR tummy time issues with Tegan. I haven't made her lay on her tummy for about two weeks now, I just couldn't see making her scream her heart out. Today I decided to give it a go and guess what?!?! She layed there and raised her head and shoulders off the floor and was looking all over! At one point she had her head, shoulders and legs off the floor and was rocking on her belly!!! I was soo proud of her!!! After a bit she does get mad so I will roll her back to her back for a little break. When on her back she bent her legs up and was grabbing her knees which is also a first!! She nearly rolled over(I know she can do it because she has done it once before) she will get her lower half rolled over and her upper half on its side, if only she would use a bit more force to roll over that arm of hers she would have had it!!! I can't believe how much she has changed is just one day!!! I swear I am not allowed to blink..if I do I WILL miss something!!

With today marking my little girls four month birthday I decided to take a shot at giving her some cereal. She has been a little piggy and never seems full enough with just formula even with the tsp of cereal I add to it, however I wanted to wait until the four month mark to try giving her solids. Today we decided to give it a try and found that SHE LOVED IT!!! I sort of had to pry the first bite in between her lips, once she realized that is was somthing yummy she turned into a little birdie opening her mouth and waiting for that spoon full of goodies! She opened her mouth like such a big girl and started kicking her legs with pure excitement! She ate her entire bowl of cereal which was about a full table spoon, then she ate a 4 ounce bottle and passed out for the night. She is such a little cutie pie! It was absolutely gorgeous here in Illinois today!! The sun was shinning and the air was a warm 60 degrees so we decided to take little miss on a walk down to the park for the first time! I remember back when Zach and I would take walks down the street to the park and dream of having a child of our own to push on the swings and slide down the slides with. It was such an amazing feeling seeing Tegan on the swings with daddy and knowing that we will be making many many trips to the park for years to come. I remember when I was a little girl my sister and I loved when mom or dad took us to the park. We would beg them and even sit at their feet struggling with all our might to put their shoes on for them so that they had no excuse but to take us up the street to play at the park together. It is amazing how doing things with your children can take you down memory lane at times. While looking at her and playing with her and such I can't help but remember some of the things I did as a child with my parents. Tegan loved being outside and playing with Zach and I. The sunshine and fresh air was a nice change for us all. She had so much fun that as soon as we got home she passed out in my arms!!! I, of course, have pictures of it all!!!!

It was a very busy weekend here for us!! On Saturday we had a wedding to attend. It was a bit chilly so Tegan didn't get to wear any of her dresses. Im glad I didn't even bother because she had to be changed before the reception into our backup outfit from the diaper bag thanks to her puking. yum! She was a very very good girl, I was shocked considering she missed two of her naps! On the way home we stopped at B&N for some coffee for Zach and Chai for me. Zach wanted to look for a new book and I naturally gravitated to the little kids corner where I found Tegan a taggie elephant which has become her new best friend!!! We didn't even make it back to the car and she was out for the night, poor little girl!!!

She will be four months old on thursday already!!! I just can't believe it!!! She is looking less and less baby like each day and more like a mini version of me (or so I have been told!) haha.

I have such a horrible high fever...spring fever! I am so tired of the cold weather and the gray gloomy days! I am ready for nice bright sun shine with a warmth to the air. All I am asking for is at least 45 degree weather, 50 or 60 would be awesome!!! I am feeling rather blah today and I think that if it was warm and sunny out I may feel a bit more chipper. I THINK that af may be on her way! I really really hope she comes on her own, I have been praying that last month was the start of the new me. The me that starts on her own every month without the need of meds. The me that finally has a cycle and feels like an actual women. I have been very crampy and rather on edge the past week..today is cd 28 so hopefully my lovely aunt will be here soon!!
We have a wedding to attend tomorrow after noon. I am a bit sad that it will be too cold for Tegan to wear any of her cute dresses so I will have to hunt until I can find something both cute and warm. I will be sure to have new pictures of Zach, Tegan and I.

We have been so busy here in the Wright house this past week!!! We have been in the process of redoing our kitchen. It is ALMOST done, all we have left to do is finish building the cupboard where our oven used to be. I promise pics we be up as soon as it is done, it is such a transformation!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! Even though we were busy I still kept taking pictures of my sweet little boog boog. I swear that girl is going to grow up thinking that a constant flash is a normal part of life! She changes so much with every day that I dont want to miss a single moment. Only 8 more days until I am the mommy of a beautiful four month old. She is such a silly little girl. This morning I woke up to hearing her talking at the top of her lungs, those constant baby babbles are so darn cute! She talks up a storm, and I have a feeling that will never change! Oh the fun we are going to have!!! I can already hear the constant "what, why and how-comes". She is getting sooo close to laughing..I just can't wait for that first big belly laugh.
I need some mommy advice. I dont know what to do and I feel like a bad mommy no matter what I do so please lend your opinion. Tegan HATES tummy time!! When I say hate I mean scream her heart out until she passes our hate. I dont know what to do. Lately she hasn't been getting tummy time because I can't stand to make her cry. On the other hand I know that she needs it to strengthen her little arms and shoulders for future crawling. Every time I put her on her belly she either screams her heart out or she puts her thumb in her mouth and passes out. She doesn't even try to lift herself up. I have tried laying in front of her talking to her, putting tons of toys in front of her, propping her up on her boppy, I have even tried laying down and and letting her do tummy time on my chest...all of which have failed. My mom tells me over and over not to worry about it because I didn't get tummy time and I was fine...maybe I didn't get tummy time per say BUT I slept on my tummy which means I had tummy time. I just dont know what to do. Do I let her lay there and scream?? What do I do?? I feel horrible for letting her scream, yet I feel bad for not making her do something that she should be doing...ugh! HELP!

I'm back!

Last week we got a horrible virus on our computer that totally whipped out our hard drive!! A nasty worm had attached itself to our windows update and it slipped through AVG. It cleared everything from our hard drive and filled it with "DRIVE X". It wouldn't let us redo the computer or anything. Thankfully I had all of my pictures and such saved to disc and memory cards. So for the past week I had to check my mail on the horribly slow desktop in the basement. We ordered a new hard drive and my hubby replaced the old with the new and re did our computer and now all is as good as new. So I'm back..even though you didn't even know I left haha. I have tons of new pictures of Tegan that I have been dying to share with everyone so brace yourself!!!

Tegan is coming up fast on her four month birthday!! I swear it feels like she JUST turned three months old!! She is now up to eating 4oz of formula with 1.5tsp of cereal in it every 2-3 hours!!! She is a little piggy!!! She is getting to be such a big girl, although she still isn't fully in 3-6 month clothes!!! She got her first cold :( it broke my heart hearing her little raspy voice and coughs. She is STILL having issues with her tear ducts. I expressed my concerns to her pedi when I took her in for her cold. Tegan has a bad case of blocked tear ducts and has ever since she was 2 weeks old. Dr. Shah said that some children have more troubles with them than others. She said that she has a 3 year old that has even had the surgery to open the ducts and still has issues with them!! I really really hope and pray that I dont have to deal with this until she is 3!! I keep them clean and massage them ALL the time..there is nothing more that I can do other than pray that they open soon. Her personality is showing more and more every day! She smiles so big and talks up a storm, she even shows a bit of an attitude now! I can't wait for the day that she is giggling..I know it isn't too far away!!! All in all everything is GREAT!!! We had our first warm streak of the year this week so we took advantage and took Tegan for her first walk!!! woohoo for 50 degrees!! come on spring!

Today Zach and his dad picked up our counter tops and stove. They start the job on monday!!! Oh how I can't wait for my kitchen to be all done! I took before pictures today so that I wont forget lol. I will share before and after pics when it is all finished so be on the look out next week!!!

happiness outweighs the worries.

Happiness always has the ability to outweigh any worries that may be in the back of your mind. When times seem tough all you have to do is look at what you have and know that no matter what happens you will always have love and therefore you will always have happiness. Zachary got news that he will have to take a day off with no pay every two weeks due to the economy being slow. We will have $200 less on each check. It is already tight but it is about to be even tighter. We will manage, we always do. I am trying to keep the worry from entering my mind. I look at Zach and Tegan and I know that everything will be ok. They are my happiness and the lights of my world. Love is all you need in this world, if only everyone could come to realize that!! Sitting here typing slowly with one hand while Tegan peacefully sleeps on the other is an example of pure joy and happiness. Not even my growling tummy will force me to put her down!!

Thank god for income tax returns!! It came at the right time and It allowed us to get all we needed for the kitchen remodel, our plane tickets and spending money for our trip in april, and much needed clothes for us and Tegan as well as some toys for her. I promise I will take before and after pics of the kitchen! I know I forgot when we did the living room..sorry. Here are pictures of Tegan from this morning. Enjoy!!

Tegan's Taggie

Little miss Tegan has been doing alot of playing with, chewing and sucking on her burpcloths (cloth diapers). I just couldn't handle her chewing on and cuddling with an icky cloth full of spit up and smelled like sour milk. She has many little loveys but all of which are made out of very soft material with silk backing and for some reason she doesn't like them. She rather have the rough thick texture of an old cloth diaper so I decided to make her a little woobie using a cloth diaper as material. I couldn't decided how to do it and make it cute(after all it is a cloth diaper! haha)..after some thinking the ideas starting coming in. I decided I wanted to make it a little taggie with cute colors and different textures for her little hands. The backing is a nice pink and white polka dot flannel and the front is a cloth diaper that I sewed a strip of pink and white polka flannel on with a square of silk fabric with her initial inside..and of course a little bow. The entire outside is lined with little ribbon tags of different sizes, colors and textures. Tegan LOVES it! Thankfully she took right to it so I no longer have to watch my little princess suck on a puke covered burpcloth. She has been holding onto, playing with, chewing and sucking on it ever since!! Of course I have pictures from today to share!! :)

oh and I have to share my all my excitement!! Tegan's tea time excersaucer should be here any day now! Zach and I picked up a new sink and faucet set and ordered new counter tops and a stove, they will be ready to pick up on the 9th of march! I can't wait!! I am soo tired of cooking off of my 1950's counter top stove that only has one working burner and a griddle (although I will miss the pininis it makes!) I will no longer have to burn my arm on the oven that is up too high for me to safely reach into. We have to remove the cupboard so I can have an actual stove/oven and remove the wall over and build cupboards. It will be a lot of work but it will be sooo worth it!I ordered an organic baby wrap from loveyduds the other day!! I can't wait for it to get here, it will be sooo nice for when we travel in april!!! I have been working out on our wii fit!!! Already I feel the burn! haha. I bought a pair of size 7/8 jean gauchos the other day...size 7/8 woot!! Now if only I could get rid of all this extra skin Tegan gave me...any ideas?? Or am I stuck looking like a deflated balloon forever??? lmao!
