Tegan is 6 weeks! update on us.

What a crazy past few days!!!! Yesterday we had the hour drive to rockford for Tegan's one month check up. My baby girl is getting soo big, a whole 9lbs 6oz 20.2inches long! She is as healthy as can be :) She had to have her second hep-b shot, I of course cried listening to that little cry of pain. I picked her up and held her and cried with her! I dont know what I am going to do at her next apt when she gets her other shots!!! She has now outgrown her new born clothes and made her way into size 0-3 months! It is amazing that she is 6 weeks already..it doesn't at all feel like it has been six weeks already!! After Tegan's appointment we had to stay in rockford and wait for my apt that was at 3 so in the mean time we went to babies r us, target and the mall to shop with our christmas money. I stayed on top of my Tylenol and pumped in the car. My apt confirmed that I do indeed have mastitis. They wanted to admit me to the hospital due to the 104.5 fever I had earlier that morning and the previous high fevers but I opted to come home and go back today for a follow up instead. I haven't had a fever all day and I woke up feeling so much better!!!! We drove to my appointment today, waited for 2 hours and ended up leaving without being seen. We had the hour drive home and zach had to get ready for work so we couldn't wait any longer. I am still taking meds, I have no fever and I'm feeling well so I am sure I am doing ok and on the road to recovery :) here are some pictures of little miss Tegan and a video of her playing!! Gotta love the picture of her passed out on daddy's lap while at the dr's office haha!

a quick update..

The dr's office called me finally around 4 while I was out getting groceries. They squeezed me into the schedule and got me an apt for tomorrow at 3. Half way through shopping I was freezing too death and shaking, I knew the fever was back. I took my temp when we got home and it was up to 103.3! It is finally down to 101.2 after taking 600mg of ibuprofen. I was about to give in and go to the er but I decided to call and have the on call dr paged to see what she wanted me to do. Thankfully she called me in some antibiotics to start on. I am still supposed to go in tomorrow to be seen, I will let you know how it goes. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers!

I think..

I think that I just may have a case of mastitis. This morning I woke up with my left boob throbbing like crazy. Nursing off that side doesn't bother me but if you bump into it or as much as touch my boob itself I could cry. Around dinner I started feeling very blah, run down and just not like myself not to mention the uncontrollable shivering. I took my temp and it is at 101.3 which would explain me being so darn cold while sitting in a house that has the thermostat set at 72 and in pj pants and a hoodie! I will call my OB in the morning and see what he says..I don't have my apt with him until next week sometime. I have a feeling I got it from being over full...Tegan has been sleeping for 4 hour spans at night now so my body better adjust to her new schedule soon!! I hope I start to feel better by myself, thankfully mastitis doesn't hurt the breast milk (or so I read). I just wish Zach was home with me tonight...

on a good note...drum roll please....ddddddddd ddddddd ddddddd

(lmao!)

I got MY wedding ring on today! yay!!! I was starting to think that it was never going to fit again!

Tegan's First Christmas!

I was so excited to spend this Christmas with my sweet little miracle. When pregnant I always daydreamed about how it would be having my little girl at Christmas and sharing her excitement in all the Christmases to come. Every christmas at my grandmas there is a new baby, and every year I held them and said "this will be me next year" and this year it really was me! I had my very own baby to spend the holidays with. I had tears in my eyes just thinking about Tegan and how truly blessed I am. She is the best gift I could have ever asked for and I am so thankful that our prayers were finally answered and that I was blessed with such a beautiful little girl. Christmas is always a very busy crazy time here; with having so much family it feels like all we do is run from house to house. Christmas eve morning we had our little christmas here with Zach, Tegan and I. Tegan sat in our laps while we opened a few gifts of hers..the rest of the time she wanted to be on my boob. So I fed her while I opened my gifts lol thank goodness for my boppy pillow!

After we had our little christmas it was time to clean up and get ready to go to my grandmas house to have christmas with my dads side of the family. My grandma had gotten Tegan this little christmas outfit when I was in the hospital with Tegan. I giggled at the sight of her in it all day..she looked like my super cute miss clause. Thankfully we took pictures of her in it before we left home because during a diaper change at my grandmas Tegan decided to pee on herself so she had to be changed into a backup outfit from the diaper bag lol.

After christmas with my dads side of the family we stayed the night at my moms house to awake for christmas morning there. Zach, Tegan and I along with our dog spartan all selpt on the hide-a-bed in the living room. I think Tegan was the only one of us that actually slept!!! She did so well for her first night away from home.

After opening gifts christmas morning at my moms house we had a nice breakfast and got ready to head over to my aunts house for chritmas with my moms side of the family. We had lunch there with the family and opened gifts and spent time together before leaving to head to Zach's parents house for a bit. Around 8pm we finally headed for home..I swear not even an hour after we got home we were in bed passed out! I love the holidays but they wear you out! I hope you all had a very merry christmas!!! I know I did, I can't wait for next year!!!!!

My little cuppy cake!

I couldn't help but share these pictures with you!!! She is so precious :) Oh I can't wait for tomorrow to get here so the holiday craziness can begin!!!! A very sweet friend of mine knitted the cup cakes for Tegan :) I have sung the cuppy cake song to Tegan since I was pregnant and I always call her my little cuppy cake. I saw an adorable set of knitted cup cakes online for $35 and my friend told me she would make them for us for free..so sweet of her!! I think they came out perfect too! They will make the perfect addition to Tegan's little laugh and learn playhouse :) and take and make picnic basket that I got her for christmas!

Let the craziness begin!

Well I called and canceled Tegan's pedi appointment for this morning and rescheduled it for next Tuesday. We had heavy winds and alot of drifting snow and a temp of -35 so I didn't want to even take Tegan out in it. I can't wait for next tuesday to come so I can hear how much she weighs. I know she is getting big! She is now into 0-3 month clothes and her socks finally fit her feet. To get a guess I weighed myself and then weighed myself holding her and it said that she is up to 11 pounds...I thought that was just nuts so Zach did the same and it still said 11 pounds!!! If that is the case then she has gained almost 2 1/2 pounds in two weeks...that can't be right can it? If so then holy breast milk haha. It is going to be a very very busy rest of the week so Tuesday will be here before we know it! Christmas is always a busy time for Zach and I, even more so this year. We will have our christmas here christmas eve morning..then christmas eve night is christmas with my dads side of the family at my grandmas house, we stay the night at my moms house christmas eve night and awake for christmas morning at my moms, then that after noon we are at my aunts for the family christmas..then we go to Zach's parents for christmas night..then finally we are home and ready to sleep until Jan 1st haha. I am super excited for the craziness to start!!! Tegan will be there for it all :) Expect tons of pics!!! Here are a few new pictures of Tegan to get you by until then! Enjoy :)

one month old: a sneeze and a poop-pics and video

Wow, I am so behind in keeping you all updated; for that I'm sorry. Life with a baby is a busy one..even more so when you are a breast feeding mom with a husband that works nights. Tegan is growing sooo fast and will be one month old tomorrow!!! yikes! I can't believe I have a one month old already!!!!

At Tegan's last dr's appointment she was up to 8lbs 6oz and 20 inches long!!! At birth she was 7lbs 11oz 18.5inches long but dropped down to 6lbs 11oz before we left the hospital so she is growing very well!!! Her next appointment is on monday the 23rd :) I can't wait to see how much she has grown since her last time at the dr. She has quite the personality already :) She is changing in looks every day and growing like a little weed!!! She is out growing her new born clothes and before I know it she will be into 0-3 month. NB diapers are now a thing of the past, last week she moved up to size one.

We are now doing only breast feeding when at home. She only gets a bottle when we are in the car or in public, in that case I pump to or from where ever we are going seems how it is always a long trip for my boobies to make it through lol. We are doing so awesome with breast feeding now! You wouldn't even know that we had a bumpy start. I am so glad that I had the strong desire to give breast feeding another shot. We have been bottle free at home for the past 5 days. Tegan is going through a little growth spurt, she is always hungry..the past few days I swear all I do is sit around with her on my boob. She always eats at least 3 oz at every feeding (we know from the bottle feeding when out). I had our first horrible long night the other night. Tegan was up crying all night, come to find out she didn't like the tabasco sauce I had eaten lol.

We went and visited my RE last week after Tegan's appointment Since we were up in rockford already. It was so nice walking through those doors full of happiness instead of nervousness and hope. Everyone welcomed us with smiles and hugs, after all for 2 years we basically lived there. It was nice to see everyone again! I looked at the picture they have hanging on the wall in the waiting room and teared up..it says "the future begins here". So very true!!! Everyone was so excited to see and hold Tegan, they couldn't get over how adorable she is! We visited for about 20 minutes, talking about the pregnancy and delivery, and we showed them the pictures of my belly paintings. Dr Holden walked around the entire time with Tegan Fast asleep in his arms, he didn't want to give her back to me haha! They are some of the sweetest people I have ever met, I can't wait to tell Tegan of all the wonderful people that helped bring her into this world.

Last night I got a little surprise from Tegan, I swear this little girl loves to surprise mommy and daddy. She woke me up around 2am this morning with a dirty butt, I JUST got her all cleaned and had her butt up sliding her new diaper under her when she sneezed. LMAO! WELL when she sneezed she pooped EVERYWHERE!!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry lol. It was all over my hands and arm all over her whipe warmer and flung across her bedroom floor. I cleaned it off of me and her changing mat and the whipe warmer and went to get the floor and thought that this was something that needed to be recorded and kept forever to show her when she grows up lol. Thankfully the camera is always near by. I can't stop giggling about it today lol. Oh I love her so much, even if she poops all over.

Of course I have a few pictures to share with you all :)

3 weeks tomorrow!

Our little Fuzzy will be 3 weeks old tomorrow! I just dont understand where time is going!! It feels like yesterday we brought her home and here she is getting close to a month old! wow!!! Tegan is doing great!!! She is growing and changing so much every day! It is simply amazing to watch her grow and discover new things. She has a dr's apt on thursday, I can't wait to see how much she weighs and such. We are still breast feeding, she is doing so well with it too!!!! Last night she took 15 mins from each side so I didn't even have to pump yay!!!! She eats ALOT, and thinks she is always starving lmao. I am still pumping all the time, I have a freezer full of milk :) She sleeps pretty good during the night, she wakes every 3 hours or so to be changed and fed. She has been sleeping in her bassinet pretty well, until 3am when she thinks it is wide awake hour lmao so then she comes to bed with mommy for a bit. Don't tell me it is a bad habbit blah blah because I have been told over and over and honestly I dont care! Zach works nights and if I am going to get any sleep I have to do what I have to do. I am doing well. I have now lost all of my pregnancy weight, breast feeding sure sucks it away lol. Here are some pictures for you all..she is getting soo big!!!

2 weeks already!

Two weeks ago I was laying in the OR waiting anxiously for that first cry from my little miracle. I can't believe it has already been two weeks since I had that little head taken out of my ribs!!! She is such a joy to have, every day I am amazed at how much she changes. She is eating more and more and growing so fast! Her personality is starting to show and every day she changes more and more. I am so in love with my little dream come true, she is such a blessing to have and hold. Tegan is starting to actually fit into her newborn clothes and she is now eating close to 3oz every 2-3 hours! We are still trying breast feeding, it isn't something I want to give up on. I want to have that special bonding time with my little girl. She is a growing girl and wants her food fast and now! I have been working on increasing my milk supply and making my let down faster so that I can give her the fast flow that she wants. Tegan took to the breast today for 20 whole minutes!!! I hope this is the start of breast feeding rather than me pumping all day and feeding her the milk through a bottle. Her clogged tear ducts are getting better with each day, hopefully soon they will be all the way open. All is well here in the Wright house. We are happy, healthy and in love with our new bundle of joy. I will update more when I have a chance :) Until then here are some pictures for you all.
